You can use for E160 modem drivers for win XP 64 for E220 model. Works. I did it. :)

ive got a o2 hauwei e160 its on o2. it works fine on my vista but my xp pro wont load it wot do i nead to fix thise.

I downloaded the XP driver, extracted it, ran the set-up, command window popped up and disappeared within a second. Reconnected my phone, still didn't work. Retried set-up. Nothing. Dude, what the hell, I've been looking all OVER the place for a driver that works. ;___;

I have an orange E160E, same issue, it just won’t run on my xp64 laptop, however the rest of oranges gadgetry does, I can receive sms's (fab;-O)
I seam to be stonewalled by orange who point me to a driver for a 220, and the Hauwei site is mostly appalling.
Is there any way to run some sort of mini 32 bit shell to get it going?
Any help would be appreciated

Go to www.bt.com and look under the mobile broadband / data section in Support, you will find the BT access manager program, this has all the device drivers you need for Huawei modems and you can customize the install to install just the drivers and not the whole program. i just used it to install my E270.

Guys, im having a big problem with my modem (Huawei E220). Now i cannot use it at all and everytime i connect it, i get the error msg ''NO SIM/USIM OR SIM/USIM ERROR''. But nothing is wrong with the SIM and it's working all fine in other dongles (similar ones ). My one is Three Mobile unlocked one used with Airtel Sri Lanka. It worked all fine for a month like, and stopped working. ALso, the machine detects only 2 drivers (and i know that E220 has to auto install 5 drivers). Is this because of a driver prob? Or firmware prob? Please help me... The vendors do not know how to troubleshoot this... Nobody has any idea.. Please help...

try to connect using 2g only or put the sim into a phone and connect to the network. it unlocks the sim, then you can use it again on 3g.
also, you can try to uninstall all related software from control panel -> add or remove programs, and re-install from the dashboard

sstp srv VISTA needed for tunneling but buggy.

I had been having trouble with the software from o2, stick just refused to work, looked every where with no luck. The text under this website in google put me off! Then tried :-

Hi everyone, when installing drivers from my dashboard software, it can't find the modem. I changed 'mass storage' to 'composite' as advised on youtube for e220 install and it finds it but now wants to start the connection via CSD and not APN, which makes me pay overcharges. Any idea why?

As Kish mentioned in an earlier post.
go to www.bt.com and search for "BT connection manager" as it is now called.
I can confirm that this works with an E220 on Windows 7 x64.
