Vodafone Mobile Connect Lite V3.2.2.182
The Mobile Connect Lite software is used by the 'plug and go' devices and is a cut-down version of the full V9 dashboard designed to run from the flash memory contained on the devices. This release adds support for new devices (the USB Modem Stick / E172) and fixes a few issues with 2G/3G handover and sending SMS.

i have just boughta vodafone mobile modem huawei, i live in turkey and the service charge is £14 a month you have to buy credits to use it in ehgland two of my friends have the same system one is £15 a month one is £12.50 a month with unlimited use and no credit to buyin just 3 weeks its cost £80 a very expensive way of gaining access to the internet,£40 for 25 hours, this system is rubbish and the connection is constantly lost all kinds of boxes continuaaly appear on screen to say you have lost your connection and you have to reboot. Why in turkey do we have to pay for the same system as ehgland and probably everywhere else i cant recommend this system to anyone the cost and the use of service is appalling always the same with vodafone when they took over the telsim turkish mobile phone system the first thing they did was put up the cost of credits, not unexpected from this company i have signed a contract with the turkish provider which i will not be honouring, you can't expect to pay for a service you dont receive to me that's a breach of contract on vodafone's behalf, think twice before buying this service
Hi,
I have a problem with VMClite 3.2.2.182, i shows the Connect botton dimmed when working wiht Vodafone Egypt Sim card at Egypt, while if use the Moroccan Midetel sim card, it shows only another operator's connection which is only 2G.!!
could you help me ??
Why is the software not updated anymore? I see on http://vodafone-mobile-connect-lite.software.informer.com/
that 3.3.9.1126 is available?? But where?
What a peace of crap this device is. THE RESPONSE TIME AND CONNECTION SPEAD IS SOMETNIG TO CRY ABOUT. My 90000 year old nokia 6230 (not even the 6230i) response time and connection speed is about 50 times faster than this device
Vodafone mobile broadband is complete rubbish.
If you are even contemplating buying one of these dongles and signing up for it ... don't bother!!!
It is excrutiatingly slow.
Average download speed of about 13 or 14 kilobits per second!!!
It also often sits at zero bps for up to two minutes when you ask it to download.
It does not matter where you try this (even in airports) You can be right up next to the mast where it says excellent signal ... it is painfully slow.
The dial-up available 11 years ago was 3 or 4 times faster than this rubbish.
You will be ripped-off!!!!!!!
Anyone thinking of buying a Vodafone dongle or signing a contract with Vodafone for this garbage should tell the salesman where to stick it!!!
You will find that it is complete rubbish.
It is painfully slow!!!
However if you enjoy wasting your hard earned cash ... feel free ... however you will soon wake up and realise how foolish you have been.
Bought one of these out of desperation as I needed to check emails while broadband was down. What a surprise... the promise of internet access at a reasonable speed turned out to be a crock. And not to mention the cost!
Here's what you get for your money:
A piece of hardware with software that barely works (you'll have to tweak it to make it work at all) When it finally does 'work' you will be lucky to even achieve dial-up speed. It frequently sits & does nothing, locks web pages & crashes them, Vodafone think they are being generous by charging you a minimum of £15 per topup that lasts for a month, then is reset. But don't worry, £15 WONT last that long, though where 1 Gb of downloaded data goes is anyones guess, I saw about 5% of it, the rest presumably went somewhere else?
Conclusion: Spend the money on a box of Aspirin, take a handful, then bang your head repeatedly against a wall. Cut out the middle man. :
If you're going to invest in mobile broadband, really save yourself time by discounting vodafone straight away. I've found the service to be rubbish, nothing works straight away, nobody is on the other end of the phone and it censors everything you try and look up until you've put your credit card details in. I would never buy this again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Goodluck, but this is really a rubbish buy.
I have the E172 dongle with V3.2.2.172 on and what a piece of crap. The 7.2 that this is is sold on will never be achieved the most I have had is 44k. Recently it has been hanging and switching my ISP off even on a full signal. I have recently ventuered with my laptop and dongle to a Vodafone outlet to try and resolve 2 problems and if necessary have the dongle replaced. They do not get replaced but repaired if there is deemed to be a fault. After various plays at the outlet by the staff and the fact the dongle was working but very slow when I entered the shop I came away without it working at all and the staff baffled. I eventually got everything back to normal after about an hours play and 2 system restores.
The other problem I found was that when I installed vista ultimate the dongle lost most of my graphics when directly entering my ISP. Vodaphone tech was no help and they did not know or recognise who AOL was but would only refer to explorer and hung up on me. Anyone thinking of buying this dongle you'd be better off getting 2 bean tins and a length of string.
I agree this device is a sack of crap. It isn't just the poor connection speed its also the performance of their customer services. In addition they want a credit card to allow you to access 95% of the web. I only used mine on holiday in UK and found an old Sony Erikson mobile used as a modem was far better(not vodafone) but expensive. I wouldn't use one of these things as a main ISP they just don't work. Most places broadband is not available and the standard service is crap.
I bought this about three months ago. It was working quite well, until about a week ago. My average speed is about 5kbps and the maximum it can scrape is 20. The only web page I can load is google, forcing me to leech to try and download software updates that are 115MB in size and don't work anyway. The "helpful" techies keep telling me my now deactived firewalls and antivirus programmes are the problem. This product is appalling. You're better off using TCP/Carrier Pigeon.
My company got me one of these so I could connect up to the office when I was away with no broadband. Unfortunately this is one of the worst pieces of hardware I've had the misforune to come across. It took me nearlly a hourr to get this thing working on my laptop, I'm IT professional so God help anyone who's not techincally minded.Tthe supplied software is hopeless and kept crashing / not detecting the modem, there seemed to be no logic to when it worked / didn't. When I eventually got on line with it, the speed was worse than dial-up even though I was in a strong 3G coverage area. One of the guys I was with had brought his own 3 dongle with him and it was like lightening, so it can be done with the technology, just not this piece of technology.
Save your money and use dialup from your 56k modem its a far superior way to access the internet than this pile of rubbish.
I don't usually reply to forums, but all you lot moaning has spoilt my day. I've an E272 modem, used 8 or more hours a day, been running for a year and a half on Vodafone, via a Dell 1525 (and before that on a PackardBell Easynote), Vista Ultimate, IE8, Office 2007, Norton........ yes, I know, all the proprietory stuff hated by 'proper' laptop users. No shareware, freeware, p2p or games. Recently upgraded the E272 to V3.2.2.182 from this website's download. I've also downloaded VMC_full to try and the E272 works just as successfully with the full programme.
Absolutely no problems. Ok, so I'm in the UK, the home of Vodafone, but the E272 is the same Chinese built one sold worldwide. I'm in a fringe area at work according to sitefinder but the service never drops out and gives a couple of meg download. When I'm at home where I can see the transmission tower I get 7 megs easily. BBCi HD streaming no problem. I'm now paying less than a tenner a month. So what am I doing right? I'd happily recommend the E272 and Vodafone service to anyone who asked.
Hey,
thx for digging this one out. Is there an even newer version?
Vodafone Mobile Connect Lite V3.2.2.182 tends to hang on shutdown on Vista 64 SP1...
